El aula estaba vacía, pero las sombras bailaban en las paredes. Aku entrecerró los ojos. No había viento, ni luz cambiante. Pero las siluetas… se movían. Como si recordaran algo que los humanos no podían ver.

教室は無人だった。だが壁には、影が踊っていた。 アクは目を細めた。 風もなく、光も揺れていない。 だがそのシルエットは……動いていた。 人間には見えない「記憶」をなぞるように。
—No deberíamos estar aquí —susurró Nadjimi. —Justo por eso debemos estar —respondió Komheyo. Las sombras solo aparecen cuando el ciclo se debilita. Son las memorias… de todas las líneas que no sobrevivieron.

“We shouldn’t be here,” Nadjimi whispered. “Which is exactly why we must be,” Komheyo replied. The shadows appear when the cycle weakens. They are memories… of all the timelines that didn’t make it.
Una figura más grande emergió. Un Aku distorsionado, con los ojos vacíos. Caminaba como un eco, repitiendo palabras sin sentido. —Ese… era yo —dijo Aku, con voz baja.

“He will be, if we fail,” Komheyo added. “We won’t,” Nadjimi said firmly. “Not this time.”
La figura se desvaneció lentamente, llevándose consigo un fragmento de frío. Y Aku entendió: no estaban jugando con el tiempo. Estaban arriesgando el alma.
