La voz del altavoz retumba en todo el barco:
—¡Damas y caballeros, comienza el Gran Juego Submarino! La primera pista está escondida en algún lugar del vestíbulo. ¡Que gane el equipo más rápido (y menos mareado)!

English Translation
The loudspeaker echoes through the ship:
“Ladies and gentlemen, the Grand Undersea Game has begun! The first clue is hidden somewhere in the lobby. May the fastest (and least seasick) team win!”
—¡Vamos, equipo! —grita Itao, corriendo como si dieran premios por velocidad.
—¿Hay penalización por atropellar millonarios? —pregunto mientras esquivo a una señora con sombrero enorme.
—Solo si es en horario de cóctel —responde Kumi sin pestañear.

「いくぞチーム！」とイタオが全力疾走。
「金持ちをはねたら減点ある？」と俺。巨大な帽子のマダムを避けつつ言う。
「カクテルタイム中は減点だね」とクミが冷静に返す。
English Translation
“Let’s go, team!” shouts Itao, running like there’s a prize for speed.
“Do we lose points for running over millionaires?” I ask as I dodge a lady in a giant hat.
“Only during cocktail hour,” Kumi replies without missing a beat.
En el vestíbulo, los equipos corren de un lado a otro. Un grupo vestido de azul busca bajo las sillas. Otro revisa detrás de las esculturas.
Un hombre con monóculo examina una lámpara con lupa.
—¿Crees que el siguiente reto será encontrar el sentido de la vida? —pregunta Itao.

ロビーはカオス状態。他のチームはイスの下や彫刻の裏を探しまくっている。
モノクルの男はランプを虫眼鏡でじっと見ている。
「次のお題、“人生の意味を探せ”とかだったらどうする？」イタオが言う。
English Translation
In the lobby, teams run everywhere. One group in blue checks under the chairs. Another pokes behind the statues.
A man with a monocle examines a lamp with a magnifying glass.
“Do you think the next challenge will be to find the meaning of life?” Itao asks.
Kumi levanta la mirada.
—Pensad como un capitán con loro: ¿Dónde escondería una pista?
—En una caja de galletas. O en el ala del loro.
—O debajo del sombrero de esa señora, pero no me atrevo a intentarlo.

クミが鋭い目つきになる。
「船長（とオウム）になった気持ちで考えよう。ヒントをどこに隠す？」

English Translation
Kumi looks up, eyes sharp.
“Think like a captain with a parrot: where would you hide a clue?”
“In a cookie tin. Or in the parrot’s wing.”
“Or under that lady’s hat, but I’m not brave enough to try.”
De pronto, veo un pequeño cangrejo de peluche asomando detrás de una columna.
—¿Eso cuenta como pista o decoración?
Itao se lanza y… ¡bingo! Debajo del cangrejo hay una tarjeta dorada.

ふと柱の後ろに小さなカニのぬいぐるみを見つける。

English Translation
Suddenly, I spot a small plush crab peeking out from behind a column.
“Does that count as a clue or just decoration?”
Itao dives and… bingo! Under the crab is a golden card.
—¡Primera pista conseguida! —grita Itao, alzando la tarjeta.
La multitud aplaude, algunos nos miran con respeto, otros con pura envidia.
—Solo quedan… ¿nueve más? —pregunto.
—Tranquilos, en el peor de los casos siempre podemos secuestrar al loro —dice Kumi.

English Translation
“First clue found!” shouts Itao, holding up the card.
The crowd applauds; some look at us with respect, others with pure envy.
“Only… nine more to go?” I ask.
“Don’t worry, if all else fails we can always kidnap the parrot,” Kumi says with a grin.
