—¡Guau, Aku! ¿Viste esa puerta? We glanced at each other, gulped in sync, and stepped forward between carpets softer than my dreams and chandeliers that looked like vanilla ice cream.

English Translation
An elegant man appeared, his mustache so curved it could be used as a slide. —“Welcome to the Neptune Star Submarine. Would you prefer a butler to fan you with $100 bills, or the classic champagne option?” Kumi leaned in, dead serious: —“Does the butler know any card tricks?” The butler didn’t blink: —“Of course, miss. I can even make the restaurant bill disappear… once you pay it first.”

We walked down the hall, surrounded by ladies with hats big enough to cause solar eclipses and men in suits so tight they looked like fancy sausages. —“Aku, do you feel a bit… less rich than usual?” Kumi whispered. —“Kumi, I think my surfing penguin T-shirt gave me away.” —“It’s fine! The real treasure here is friendship… and the dessert buffet.”

English Translation
Suddenly, a blond boy in a bow tie, no older than ten, intercepted us. —“Hey, are you new rich or contest winners?” —“Is there a difference?” I asked. The boy burst out laughing and winked. —“On this ship, everyone’s a weirdo.” Kumi handed him a candy. The boy accepted with a secret-agent salute.

Kumi grinned: —“If we could launch desserts instead of torpedoes, we’d be the heroes of this trip.”
