Con la cuarta llave en nuestro poder, los portales comenzaron a comportarse de forma aún más inestable. English Translation
With the fourth key in our hands, the portals became even more unstable. Some opened and closed in a matter of minutes; others remained active for hours, emitting a pale glow that distorted reality around them. One night, while the group was gathered in the park, one of the portals suddenly expanded into a giant mirror. It reflected not only our images, but also impossible scenes: sunken cities, skies split in two, versions of ourselves silently laughing or crying. Lena murmured that this must be the “mirror of bifurcations,” a trial foretold in the dreams of the blind old woman.

English Translation
As we approached, the mirror vibrated and, one by one, we were pulled into its liquid surface. I woke up in a distorted version of my room: the furniture floated, the walls were made of glass, and outside the window, the city was covered in red clouds. In each reflection of the glass, I saw a different “me”: one brave, one fearful, one who never dared to talk to Kumi, one who gave up before the adventure began. I soon realized the mirror was forcing me to confront all the possible lives I might have lived had I made different choices. I felt the weight of doubt and regret, but also a strange freedom: even among infinite branches, I was still myself, able to choose.

No sé cuánto tiempo estuve allí. Escuché voces a lo lejos—las de mis amigos—llamándome a través de los espejos. Recordé entonces la promesa que hicimos juntos, la fuerza de los recuerdos compartidos, y la determinación de no rendirnos jamás. Golpeé el cristal con todas mis fuerzas, gritando el nombre de Kumi y de cada uno del grupo. Poco a poco, las imágenes alternativas se desvanecieron y el espejo se agrietó, permitiéndome salir. Al otro lado, mis amigos también estaban regresando, algunos llorando, otros riendo con alivio, todos cambiados de algún modo.

I don’t know how long I was there. I heard voices in the distance—my friends’ voices—calling me through the mirrors. I then remembered the promise we had made together, the strength of our shared memories, and our determination never to give up. I struck the glass with all my might, shouting Kumi’s name and those of everyone in the group. Slowly, the alternative images faded and the mirror cracked, allowing me to escape. On the other side, my friends were also returning, some crying, others laughing with relief, all changed in some way.

But we knew the hardest trials were still to come, and that the price of our choices would grow with each step toward the end.
