El regreso a la rutina escolar tras superar el laberinto fue cualquier cosa menos normal. Aunque por fuera todo seguía igual—el timbre de las clases, el ruido en los pasillos, las bromas de los compañeros—, yo veía fisuras invisibles por todas partes. Las paredes de la escuela vibraban con una energía inquieta, y a veces, sombras fugaces cruzaban los ventanales, proyectando figuras irreales sobre las pizarras. Returning to school routine after overcoming the labyrinth was anything but normal. Outwardly, everything seemed the same—the sound of the bell, the noise in the hallways, classmates’ jokes—but I saw invisible cracks everywhere. The school walls vibrated with uneasy energy, and sometimes fleeting shadows crossed the windows, casting unreal shapes on the blackboards. Kumi noticed them too; during breaks, we exchanged worried glances. Some students began to be absent for no reason, and teachers grew increasingly distracted, as if a thick fog was slowly taking over the building.

We entered the gym and closed the door behind us. As soon as we did, the temperature dropped sharply and the lights began to flicker, projecting long, twisted shadows moving all around us.

I was the first to be singled out. The figure with the mirror approached, and as I looked into its surface, I didn’t see my own reflection but scenes of every time I doubted myself, my failures, my fears, and the pain of feeling invisible in the real world.

I felt I could be lost in that mirror forever, but I remembered Kumi’s voice calling my name, my friends’ laughter, the times we had overcome fear together. I took a deep breath and, aloud, accepted my weaknesses. “I’m not perfect, but I’m not alone.” The mirror’s glass cracked, the figure vanished, and something inside me grew stronger and clearer. One by one, my companions faced their own shadows and, upon overcoming them, each received a shining object. When we had all succeeded, the central circle of light condensed, and in a burst of brilliance, the third key appeared—this time, golden. We left the gym exhausted but with new conviction: to defeat the darkness, we first had to conquer our own.
