Story (CEFR: B2 Spanish)
La vida después del cruce del portal ya nunca volvió a la normalidad. Al principio, Kumi y yo intentamos seguir yendo a clase, fingiendo que nada había cambiado, pero era imposible. Cada vez que cerraba los ojos, veía fragmentos de aquel bosque extraño: ramas de cristal, criaturas que susurraban mi nombre desde la distancia, y puertas flotando sobre el río Sumida. En los pasillos de la escuela, sentía como si el aire estuviera más pesado, cargado de una energía invisible que sólo Kumi y yo percibíamos. Life after crossing the portal never returned to normal. At first, Kumi and I tried to keep going to class, pretending nothing had changed, but it was impossible. Every time I closed my eyes, fragments of that strange forest appeared: crystal branches, creatures whispering my name from afar, and doors floating above the Sumida River. Even in the school hallways, the air felt heavier, charged with an invisible energy that only Kumi and I could sense. Sometimes, as I passed a mirror, my reflection seemed to move on its own, silently smiling at me. Everything suggested that the merging of both worlds was inevitable, and that darkness was gaining strength.

One day, returning home, I saw on the news images of a “strange blue mist” covering several districts. There were reports of floating lights and animals fleeing for no reason. The adults blamed electrical problems and student pranks, but Kumi and I knew the truth: the portals were multiplying. That same night, in a dream, a hooded being appeared before me, its red eyes shining in the darkness. “The balance is breaking,” it whispered. “Only those who have seen both worlds can decide the fate.” I felt a chill run through my body, and when I woke up, I could still hear its voice in my head.

Empezamos con la abuela de Kumi, quien, para nuestra sorpresa, creyó nuestras palabras sin vacilar. “Hay historias antiguas de puertas entre mundos,” nos dijo, sacando de un cajón un colgante con un símbolo extraño. “Mi madre decía que la línea entre sueños y realidad es más fina de lo que parece.” Nos animó a buscar aliados, a encontrar a otros que hubieran visto lo imposible. “Solo juntos podréis encontrar el camino hacia el objeto legendario y enfrentar al Rey Demonio.”

Pronto, formamos un grupo de siete. Nos reuníamos cada tarde en un parque abandonado, planeando cómo rastrear los portales y recolectar pistas sobre el objeto legendario. But together, with new friends and ancient legends, we were determined to challenge fate and restore balance to both worlds. Thus began the true resistance against the darkness.
