Story (CEFR: B2 Spanish)
Han pasado semanas desde el gran cambio. La ciudad, aunque rebosante de maravillas y prodigios, ha encontrado una calma inesperada. La gente se ha acostumbrado a compartir bancos con duendecillos, a ver dragones dormir sobre los tejados, a escuchar historias de monstruos en los parques sin sentir miedo. Los niños aprenden magia y matemáticas en la misma clase, los abuelos cultivan plantas que solo florecen bajo la luz de dos lunas. Tokio —o lo que queda de ella— es ahora un crisol de realidades, donde cada uno puede elegir qué recordar y qué soñar.

English Translation
Weeks have passed since the great change. The city, now overflowing with wonders and miracles, has found an unexpected peace. People have become used to sharing benches with sprites, seeing dragons sleeping on rooftops, listening to stories about monsters in parks without fear. Children learn magic and math in the same class, grandparents grow flowers that bloom only under the light of two moons. Tokyo—or what remains of it—is now a crucible of realities, where each person can choose what to remember and what to dream.

Un día, Kumi y yo subimos a la colina donde solíamos mirar la ciudad antes de que todo cambiara. Sentados bajo el árbol, hablamos de los que no están, de los sueños que no se cumplieron, de las promesas que seguimos repitiendo en voz baja. “¿Crees que realmente hicimos lo correcto?”, preguntó Kumi, mirando el cielo donde volaban peces de luz. No respondí de inmediato. Recordé el miedo y la pérdida, pero también la amistad y el coraje que nos trajo hasta aquí. “No sé si fue lo correcto,” admití al fin, “pero fue lo único que solo nosotros podíamos elegir. Y creo que eso basta.”

English Translation
One day, Kumi and I climbed the hill where we used to watch the city before everything changed. Sitting under the tree, we spoke about those who were gone, the dreams that didn’t come true, the promises we still repeated softly to ourselves. “Do you think we really did the right thing?” Kumi asked, looking at the sky where fish of light swam. I didn’t answer right away. I remembered the fear and the loss, but also the friendship and courage that brought us here. “I don’t know if it was the right thing,” I finally admitted, “but it was the only choice that was truly ours. And I think that’s enough.”

En ese momento, comprendí que los finales no existen: cada día, cada historia, es solo una puerta más que aprendemos a cruzar juntos. Y en ese mundo lleno de cicatrices y milagros, Kumi y yo supimos que, mientras elijamos caminar uno al lado del otro, cualquier mundo será siempre nuestro hogar.

English Translation
As the sun set, the city began to shine with its new life. In that moment, I understood that endings don’t exist: every day, every story, is just another door we learn to cross together. And in this world full of scars and miracles, Kumi and I knew that as long as we chose to walk side by side, any world would always be our home.
