Story (CEFR: B2 Spanish)
Durante lo que pareció una eternidad, nadie habló. Sentíamos el peso del pasado y el futuro colgando de un hilo invisible. El oro de la esfera brillaba con cada latido, como si respondiera a la duda y la esperanza a la vez. Finalmente, fui yo quien rompió el silencio: “No quiero perder lo que aprendimos, ni olvidar el dolor ni la alegría que nos trajo este viaje. Si hay una manera de que los dos mundos puedan compartir nuestras heridas y sueños, yo la elijo.” Los demás asintieron, algunos llorando, otros sonriendo. Sabíamos que restaurar todo como estaba sería más fácil, pero significaría negar lo que éramos ahora. Elegimos avanzar, no retroceder.

English Translation
For what felt like an eternity, no one spoke. We felt the weight of the past and future hanging by an invisible thread. The golden sphere pulsed with each heartbeat, as if responding to both doubt and hope. At last, I broke the silence: “I don’t want to lose what we’ve learned, nor forget the pain and joy this journey has brought us. If there’s a way for both worlds to share our wounds and dreams, I choose it.” The others nodded, some in tears, some smiling. We knew restoring everything would be easier, but it would mean denying who we had become. We chose to move forward, not backward.

El Rey Demonio cerró los ojos. Una lágrima azul recorrió su mejilla y, con una voz cargada de siglos, dijo: “Vuestro deseo no es egoísta, sino valiente. Así nace un mundo nuevo.” La esfera se alzó, expandiendo su luz en ondas suaves. Los fragmentos de Tokio y del reino de los sueños comenzaron a fusionarse, tejieron calles donde realidad y fantasía convivían, escuelas donde se enseñaba a volar, plazas donde los monstruos cuidaban jardines junto a los niños, ríos que recordaban los nombres de quienes los cruzaban. El dolor y la felicidad, la memoria y el olvido, dejaron de ser opuestos: se mezclaron para formar la materia de un futuro inesperado.

English Translation
The Demon King closed his eyes. A blue tear rolled down his cheek and, with a voice weighted by centuries, he said, “Your wish is not selfish, but brave. Thus, a new world is born.” The sphere rose, expanding its light in gentle waves. Fragments of Tokyo and the dream kingdom began to merge, weaving streets where reality and fantasy coexisted, schools where flying was taught, plazas where monsters tended gardens with children, rivers that remembered the names of those who crossed them. Pain and happiness, memory and forgetting, ceased to be opposites: they blended to form the fabric of an unexpected future.

Despertamos en una ciudad familiar, pero distinta. Las calles estaban llenas de personas y criaturas que convivían sin miedo. Kumi y yo caminamos de la mano; Lena corría a nuestro lado, riendo junto al chico de los sueños; los demás nos alcanzaron bajo el cielo donde volaban barcos y dragones. Sentíamos que los recuerdos dolorosos no se habían ido, pero tampoco pesaban igual: formaban parte de quienes éramos, y nos daban la fuerza para crear algo mejor. En una plaza llena de luz, nos abrazamos todos, y supimos que aquel “fin” era en realidad el inicio de un mundo donde soñar y recordar era por fin lo mismo que vivir.

We woke in a city both familiar and different. The streets were filled with people and creatures living together without fear. Kumi and I walked hand in hand; Lena ran beside the dream boy, laughing; the others caught up beneath a sky where ships and dragons flew. We felt that painful memories hadn’t disappeared, but they no longer weighed us down: they were part of who we were, giving us strength to create something better. In a square full of light, we all embraced, knowing that this “ending” was really the beginning of a world where to dream and to remember was, at last, the same as living.
