English translation
When midnight came, the voice of the abyss asked them to respond. One by one, the crew members declared their choice. Those who chose oblivion felt an artificial peace, but their eyes lost their brightness, and sometimes they did not even respond to their own names. Those who chose the truth were prey to new nightmares: their dreams filled with visions of extinct civilizations, beings dwelling among the stars, and infinite loneliness.

It was not a total victory, but something changed: where before there had been only fear, now a spark of hope shone. The abyss, for the first time, fell silent.
