Historia (CEFR: B1 Español)
Al sonar la última campana del día, la luz del atardecer entra oblicua por las ventanas y tiñe todo de un naranja suave. La clase empieza a vaciarse lentamente; algunos corren a sus actividades de club, otros se detienen a charlar en los pasillos, mientras unos pocos, como nosotros, nos quedamos en el aula para seguir decorando el mural.

When the final bell rings, the sunset light slants through the windows, coloring everything in a gentle orange. The classroom gradually empties; some rush off to their clubs, others linger to talk in the halls, while a few of us stay behind to keep decorating the mural.

Najimi es la primera en subir a una silla para colocar estrellas de papel en la parte alta de la pared. Komehyo bromea con que va a firmar cada estrella “por si se vuelven famosas”, mientras yo recorto siluetas de animales para pegarlas alrededor del árbol de Kumi.

Najimi is the first to climb on a chair, placing paper stars high up on the wall. Komehyo jokes about signing every star "in case they become famous," while I quietly cut out animal silhouettes to stick around Kumi’s tree.

나지미가 제일 먼저 의자에 올라 벽 위쪽에 종이별을 붙인다. 코메효는 "혹시 유명해질지 모르니까 별마다 싸인할래!"라고 농담하고, 나는 쿠미가 그린 나무 주위에 붙일 동물 그림자를 조용히 오린다.
Kumi observa todo con una sonrisa tranquila. Cuando cree que nadie la mira, acaricia suavemente la corteza pintada del árbol en el mural, como si le diera fuerzas. Nos cuenta que en su antiguo colegio también había un gran árbol donde solía leer sola, y que ahora, gracias a este mural, ese recuerdo ya no le parece lejano.

Kumi watches everything with a gentle smile. When she thinks no one is looking, she softly touches the painted trunk of the mural’s tree, as if drawing strength from it. She tells us that her old school also had a big tree where she used to read alone, and now, thanks to this mural, that memory doesn’t seem so far away anymore.

El silencio de la tarde se llena de pequeños sonidos: tijeras, risas, cinta adhesiva, un golpecito de pie sobre el suelo. Al mirar a mi alrededor, me doy cuenta de lo fácil que es perderse en la rutina y lo difícil, a veces, que es darse cuenta de que el día de hoy también será, algún día, un recuerdo precioso.

The afternoon’s silence is filled with small sounds: scissors, laughter, tape, a soft tap of a foot on the floor. As I look around, I realize how easy it is to get lost in routine and how hard it is, sometimes, to recognize that today will also be, someday, a precious memory.

Cuando finalmente recogemos todo y nos despedimos, la noche ya ha caído. Al salir de la escuela, el aire es fresco y limpio, y las luces de la calle parecen guiarnos de regreso a casa. Camino junto a mis amigos, sintiendo que, paso a paso, los lazos entre nosotros se hacen un poco más fuertes, casi sin darnos cuenta.

By the time we finish and say goodbye, night has already fallen. As we leave the school, the air is fresh and clean, and the streetlights seem to guide us home. Walking with my friends, I feel that, step by step, the bonds between us are growing a little stronger, almost without us realizing it.
