Nos abrimos paso entre los curiosos y llegamos al centro del grupo. Komehyo, siempre exagerado, sostiene una pequeña botella de plástico y sonríe con ese aire de inventor loco que solo él puede tener. A su lado, el presidente del club de ciencias parece algo preocupado, como si presintiera que el caos es inminente.

人だかりをかき分けて中央まで進むと、コメヒョがプラスチックの小瓶を得意げに掲げていた。まるで“発明家”になったかのような無邪気な笑顔は、彼にしかできないものだ。その隣で科学部の部長が不安そうな顔をしていて、これから何か騒ぎが起こるのを予感しているみたいだった。

We push through the crowd to the center. Komehyo, as dramatic as ever, is holding up a small plastic bottle and smiling with the look of a mad inventor—something only he can pull off. Beside him, the science club president looks a bit anxious, as if he can already sense the chaos about to unfold.

El club de ciencias prepara rápidamente una bandeja por si acaso. Najimi me mira y sugiere en voz baja que quizá deberíamos mantenernos listos para salir corriendo. La tensión se mezcla con risas contenidas; incluso algunos profesores, pasando por el pasillo, lanzan miradas de advertencia pero con una sonrisa disimulada.

The science club members quickly prepare a tray, just in case. Najimi whispers that maybe we should be ready to run. The tension mixes with suppressed laughter; even some teachers passing by in the hallway give warning looks, but with a hidden smile.

Komehyo abre la botella, añade un polvo misterioso y… de pronto, una espuma blanca y abundante brota como un volcán en miniatura, desbordando la bandeja y empapando a los espectadores más cercanos. Hay gritos, risas, y una pequeña avalancha para evitar el “tsunami” químico. Incluso el presidente del club no puede evitar reírse, a pesar del desastre.

Komehyo opens the bottle, adds a mysterious powder, and—suddenly, a white, foamy mass erupts like a mini-volcano, overflowing the tray and splashing the nearest onlookers. There are shouts, laughter, and a brief stampede to avoid the “chemical tsunami.” Even the science club president can’t help but laugh, despite the mess.

코메효가 작은 병 뚜껑을 열고 정체불명의 가루를 넣자, 갑자기 흰 거품이 미니 화산처럼 솟구쳐 쟁반을 넘치고 주위 사람들에게 튀었다. 비명이 터지고, 모두가 웃으며 “화학 쓰나미”를 피하려고 한바탕 소동이 벌어진다. 과학부 부장도 결국 웃음을 터뜨릴 수밖에 없는 상황이었다.
Cuando el alboroto se calma, Najimi y yo ayudamos a limpiar. Komehyo se disculpa entre risas, pero nadie parece estar realmente molesto. Al contrario, algunos estudiantes piden que la próxima vez les avise para grabarlo en vídeo. La escuela es así: un escenario donde los errores se convierten en anécdotas, y las anécdotas en recuerdos compartidos.

When the commotion settles down, Najimi and I help to clean up. Komehyo apologizes, still laughing, but no one seems truly angry. On the contrary, some students ask him to warn them next time so they can record it on video. School is like this—a stage where mistakes become anecdotes, and anecdotes become shared memories.
