Los primeros días de Kumi en la nueva ciudad están llenos de novedades y pequeños retos. Las calles desconocidas, los acentos diferentes, incluso la forma en que la luz entra por la ventana al amanecer, todo le resulta extraño y emocionante a la vez.

Kumi’s first days in the new city are full of surprises and small challenges. Unfamiliar streets, different accents, even the way the light comes through the window at sunrise—all of it feels strange, but exciting at the same time.

El colegio anfitrión la recibe con curiosidad y amabilidad. Al principio, las palabras se le atascan en la garganta, pero poco a poco, gracias a la sonrisa de sus nuevos compañeros y la paciencia de los profesores, Kumi empieza a sentirse parte de ese lugar.

受け入れ先の学校では、みんながクミに興味津々で優しく接してくれた。最初はうまく言葉が出てこなかったけれど、クラスメイトの笑顔や先生たちの根気強さのおかげで、クミも少しずつその場所に馴染んでいった。

The host school welcomes her with curiosity and kindness. At first, words get stuck in her throat, but little by little, thanks to her classmates’ smiles and her teachers’ patience, Kumi starts to feel like she belongs.

Por las noches, escribe largas cartas a sus amigos. Les cuenta sobre la cafetería llena de plantas, el parque junto al río y los nuevos sabores que prueba en el almuerzo. Cada palabra lleva consigo un pedazo de nostalgia, pero también una promesa de volver llena de historias.

At night, she writes long letters to her friends. She tells them about the plant-filled café, the park by the river, and the new flavors she tries at lunch. Every word carries a bit of nostalgia, but also a promise to return full of stories.

Sus amigos, a su vez, responden con fotos y mensajes llenos de ánimo. Le cuentan las novedades de la escuela, los pequeños dramas cotidianos y los planes para la próxima vez que se vean. Así, aunque la distancia sea grande, cada carta es un puente que mantiene viva la amistad.

そして友だちからも、応援のメッセージや写真がどんどん届く。学校の近況や日々のちょっとした事件、「次は絶対一緒にここへ行こうね」という約束まで――離れていても、手紙のやり取りが友情の架け橋になっていった。

Her friends, in turn, reply with photos and encouraging messages. They tell her about school news, everyday little dramas, and plans for the next time they meet. In this way, even though the distance is great, each letter is a bridge that keeps the friendship alive.
