Poco después, Takumi empezó a sentarse con Ak, Najimi y Komehyo cada recreo. Komehyo le enseñaba a sobrevivir en la jungla de la cafetería (“si ves croquetas azules, huye”), Najimi lo interrogaba sobre su ciudad anterior, y Ak… simplemente disfrutaba de la extraña sensación de tener un grupo que crecía poco a poco.

それからタクミは毎休み時間、アク・ナジミ・コメヒョと一緒に過ごすようになった。コメヒョは「青いコロッケを見たら逃げろ」など食堂サバイバル術を伝授し、ナジミはタクミの元いた町について根掘り葉掘り質問。アクはただ、仲間がじわじわ増えていく奇妙な幸福感をかみしめていた。

Soon after, Takumi started sitting with Ak, Najimi, and Komehyo every break. Komehyo taught him how to survive in the cafeteria jungle (“if you see blue croquettes, run”), Najimi grilled him about his old city, and Ak… just enjoyed the strange sensation of having a group that was slowly growing.

Un día, en la sala del club de ciencias, Najimi sugirió: —¿Y si formamos nuestro propio club? Un club para los que siempre olvidan la tarea, pierden el paraguas o se meten en líos paranormales. Komehyo levantó la mano al instante. —¡Me apunto! Club de los Olvidados. Lema: “¿Qué había que hacer para hoy?” Takumi se rio y Ak, sin saber cómo, fue elegido presidente por aclamación (y porque nadie quería serlo).

ある日、理科準備室でナジミが提案する。「自分たちで部活を作ろうよ。宿題を忘れる人とか、傘をなくす人とか、心霊騒動に巻き込まれる人のための部活」 コメヒョは即座に手を挙げて「参加！“忘れ物クラブ”、今日の宿題って何だっけ？が合言葉！」と宣言。 タクミは笑い、アクはなぜか多数決で会長に（誰もやりたがらなかっただけ）。

One day, in the science club room, Najimi suggested, “What if we make our own club? A club for people who always forget their homework, lose their umbrellas, or get involved in paranormal messes.” Komehyo raised his hand immediately. “I’m in! The Forgotten Club. Motto: ‘What was due today?’” Takumi laughed, and Ak was somehow elected president by a landslide (mainly because no one else wanted the job).

Pero aquel día, cuando el club recién creado terminaba su primera reunión (que en realidad fue una competición de “a ver quién come más galletas”), Ak notó algo extraño: al pasar junto a la ventana, creyó ver a Kumi, la chica misteriosa, observándolos desde el patio, casi sonriendo. Al volver a mirar, solo quedaba la luz del atardecer.

But that day, as the newly created club ended its first meeting (which was actually a “who can eat more cookies” contest), Ak noticed something odd: passing by the window, he thought he saw Kumi, the mysterious girl, watching them from the yard, almost smiling. When he looked again, only the sunset remained.

Esa noche, Ak se preguntó si Kumi quería decirles algo. Pero por ahora, estaba contento. El club de los olvidados tenía un solo objetivo: compartir recuerdos… y galletas. Y a veces, eso era suficiente para ser feliz.

That night, Ak wondered if Kumi wanted to tell them something. But for now, he was happy. The Forgotten Club had only one goal: to share memories… and cookies. And sometimes, that was enough to be happy.
