La noticia de la “aparición” en el pasillo B se extendió por la escuela como un virus: algunos decían que Ak y sus amigos habían hablado con un espíritu vengativo, otros que Komehyo había hecho un ritual secreto para invocar a su novia imaginaria. Lo cierto es que Ak, Najimi y Komehyo no podían pensar en otra cosa. En la hora de matemáticas, Ak se quedó mirando el aire; Najimi garabateaba “Kumi” en la esquina del cuaderno; y Komehyo planeaba cómo convertir el incidente en una leyenda urbana viral.

News of the "apparition" in Hallway B spread through the school like wildfire. Some said Ak and his friends had talked to a vengeful spirit; others claimed Komehyo performed a secret ritual to summon his imaginary girlfriend. The truth was, Ak, Najimi, and Komehyo couldn’t think about anything else. During math class, Ak stared into space; Najimi doodled "Kumi" in the corner of her notebook; and Komehyo was already planning how to turn the incident into an urban legend online.

En el almuerzo, el trío buscó una mesa alejada. Komehyo, siempre dramático, susurró: —¿Y si la pulsera de Kumi está maldita? Anoche soñé que me perseguían patatas fritas con ojos. Najimi le dio un codazo. —Eso solo puede pasarle a alguien que tira patatas como ofrenda espiritual. Ak se rió, pero luego se puso serio. —¿Y si Kumi no era… una chica normal? ¿Y si realmente necesita ayuda?

At lunch, the trio found a table far from everyone else. Komehyo, always dramatic, whispered: "What if Kumi’s bracelet is cursed? Last night I dreamed that potato chips with eyes were chasing me." Najimi elbowed him. "That only happens to people who offer chips as spiritual sacrifices." Ak laughed, but then became serious. "What if Kumi wasn’t… a normal girl? What if she really needs help?"

En ese momento, alguien interrumpió su conversación. Era un chico alto, de gafas y sonrisa tranquila. Se presentó como Takumi, nuevo en la clase, recién llegado de otra ciudad. —Me he perdido buscando el laboratorio de ciencias —dijo, rascándose la cabeza—. ¿Puedo sentarme aquí? Najimi asintió rápidamente, feliz de cambiar de tema.

その時、見知らぬ男子生徒が話に割り込んできた。背が高くてメガネ、穏やかな笑顔を浮かべている。彼は「タクミ」と名乗り、転校してきたばかりだと言う。 「理科室を探してたら迷っちゃって…ここ座ってもいい？」 ナジミは「どうぞどうぞ！」と即答し、微妙な空気が一気に和らいだ。

At that moment, someone interrupted their conversation. It was a tall boy with glasses and a calm smile. He introduced himself as Takumi, new in the class, just arrived from another city. "I got lost looking for the science lab," he said, scratching his head. "Can I sit here?" Najimi quickly nodded, glad for the distraction.

Takumi pronto encajó con el grupo: bromeaba sobre experimentos locos y confesó que su mayor miedo era quedarse atrapado en un ascensor con el profe de historia. Komehyo lo declaró “apto para la expedición sobrenatural”, mientras Najimi preguntaba si prefería fantasmas o ecuaciones. Ak solo observaba, sintiendo que aquel día, el círculo de los recuerdos se abría un poco más.

Takumi quickly fit in with the group: he joked about crazy experiments and admitted his biggest fear was being trapped in an elevator with the history teacher. Komehyo declared him "qualified for supernatural expeditions," while Najimi asked if he feared ghosts or equations more. Ak just watched, feeling that the circle of memories was opening a little wider that day.
