Cuando sonó la última campana, Ak, Najimi y Komehyo se reunieron frente al edificio B, armados con linternas, una brújula de juguete y una bolsa de patatas fritas que Najimi insistía en llamar “provisiones de emergencia”. La escuela ya estaba casi vacía, y los pasillos, iluminados solo por la luz naranja del atardecer, parecían mucho más largos de lo normal.

When the final bell rang, Ak, Najimi, and Komehyo gathered in front of Building B, armed with flashlights, a toy compass, and a bag of potato chips that Najimi insisted were “emergency rations.” The school was nearly empty, and the hallways, lit only by the orange glow of sunset, looked much longer than usual.

"Action plan: we search for paranormal signs, document everything, and if we find ghosts, we offer them a potato chip," Komehyo announced with mock solemnity. Najimi snorted and grabbed the bag. "You’re the real paranormal phenomenon, Komehyo." Ak switched on his flashlight and took the lead, though he swallowed nervously.

Al pasar junto al almacén, Najimi se detuvo. De su bolsillo sacó la pulsera plateada y la sostuvo en el aire. En ese momento, una ráfaga fría barrió el pasillo y la luz de la linterna parpadeó. —No me digas que esto va a ser como en las películas —susurró Najimi, medio en broma, medio en serio. De repente, una sombra apareció al fondo del pasillo. Era la misma chica misteriosa, mirándolos con ojos serios.

As they passed by the storage room, Najimi stopped. She took the silver bracelet from her pocket and held it up. At that moment, a cold breeze swept down the hallway and the flashlight flickered. "Don’t tell me this is turning into a movie scene," Najimi whispered, half joking, half serious. Suddenly, a shadow appeared at the end of the hallway. It was the same mysterious girl, watching them with serious eyes.

Ak se adelantó, sintiendo un extraño impulso de hablar. —¿Eres… Kumi? La chica asintió levemente y, con voz suave pero clara, respondió: —Esa pulsera es mía. Pero hay cosas que todavía no podéis entender. Komehyo, con su habitual torpeza, dio un paso atrás y tiró la bolsa de patatas al suelo, esparciéndolas como ofrenda accidental.

Ak stepped forward, feeling a strange urge to speak. "Are you… Kumi?" The girl nodded slightly and, in a gentle but clear voice, replied: "That bracelet is mine. But there are things you cannot understand yet." Komehyo, in his usual clumsy fashion, stepped back and dropped the bag of chips, scattering them on the floor like an accidental offering.

Kumi recogió la pulsera, la miró con nostalgia y luego los miró uno a uno. —Nos volveremos a ver pronto. Y cuando llegue ese momento, recordad esto: no todo lo que parece perdido lo está para siempre. Con esas palabras, Kumi desapareció entre la penumbra del pasillo, dejando a los tres boquiabiertos y con muchas más preguntas que respuestas.

Kumi picked up the bracelet, gazed at it with nostalgia, then looked at each of them in turn. "We’ll meet again soon. And when that moment comes, remember this: not everything that seems lost is gone forever." With those words, Kumi vanished into the shadows of the hallway, leaving the three friends speechless and with many more questions than answers.
