Historia (CEFR: B1 Español)
La inquietud y la curiosidad llevaron al club, esa semana, al lugar del accidente: el viejo puente a las afueras del pueblo. Aquel sitio, cubierto de musgo y silencio, parecía fuera del tiempo. Ak, con la pulsera de la amistad en la mano, sintió cómo su corazón latía más fuerte al acercarse.

That week, the club’s unease and curiosity led them to the scene of the accident: the old bridge on the outskirts of town. The moss-covered, silent place seemed outside of time. Ak, holding the friendship bracelet, felt his heart beating faster as he approached the bridge.

El grupo se detuvo en el centro. Najimi tomó la mano de Ak y, en voz baja, preguntó: —¿De verdad quieres recordar todo, aunque duela? Ak asintió. Los demás formaron un círculo, y entre todos pronunciaron la promesa de la infancia: “Pase lo que pase, siempre juntos”.

The group stopped in the center of the bridge. Najimi gently took Ak’s hand and quietly asked, “Do you really want to remember everything, even if it hurts?” Ak nodded. The others formed a circle, and together, they recited their childhood promise: “No matter what happens, always together.”

De pronto, el viento se levantó. Una lluvia fina empezó a caer, igual que aquel día. Ak cerró los ojos y las imágenes vinieron a él: el grupo de niños jugando, el grito, Kumi corriendo al salvar a Yuna que resbalaba… y el agua del río tragándose a Kumi, mientras todos lloraban en la orilla.

Suddenly, the wind picked up. A light rain began to fall, just like that day. Ak closed his eyes and the images returned: children playing, a scream, Kumi running to save Yuna who slipped… and the river swallowing Kumi as everyone cried on the bank.

When Ak opened his eyes, he saw Kumi with them, soaked by the rain, smiling gently. “Thank you for keeping the promise,” she whispered. “Now I am not alone.” For the first time, Ak felt peace. Memory was painful, but it was also love. Kumi vanished, leaving behind the certainty that, as long as they remembered her, she would never truly be lost.
