En la montaña, mientras todos trataban de dormir, Kumi no podía dejar de pensar en el misterio. Se levantó en silencio y fue al salón. Sobre la mesa, junto a la lámpara, encontró una nota doblada. Decía: “El culpable miente. No todos los amigos son lo que parecen.” La letra era torpe, como si quien la escribió tuviera prisa o nerviosismo.

English Version
In the mountains, while everyone was trying to sleep, Kumi couldn’t stop thinking about the mystery. She got up quietly and went to the living room. On the table by the lamp, she found a folded note. It said: “The culprit lies. Not all friends are what they seem.” The handwriting was messy, as if written in a hurry or with nervousness.

En la escuela, Aku recordó la libreta de Maya. Al mirar más de cerca las páginas que quedaban, encontró una frase escrita con diferentes tintas: “El miedo hace que digamos cosas falsas.” Rosa, que seguía despierta, le confesó: —Maya sospechaba de alguien, pero tenía miedo de decirlo en voz alta.—

In the school, Aku remembered Maya’s notebook. Looking more closely at the remaining pages, he found a phrase written in different inks: “Fear makes us say false things.” Rosa, who was still awake, confessed to him, “Maya suspected someone, but she was too afraid to say it aloud.”

Kumi y Aku compartieron mentalmente las nuevas pistas. Ahora sabían que no solo había secretos y mentiras, sino también miedo y desconfianza. Alguien estaba intentando advertirles… o tal vez confundirlos aún más.

Back in her room, Kumi decided to trust only what she could see and hear for herself. Meanwhile, Aku resolved to pay even more attention to the details and reactions of the others. They knew that the next clue could be very close... or hidden in the shadow of someone pretending to be a friend.
