Historia (CEFR: A1)
Una noche, Kumi se despierta porque escucha un sonido raro en su habitación. Es como un “cric-cric” muy suave. Kumi se tapa con la manta, un poco asustada. Pero la curiosidad puede más y decide buscar el origen del sonido.

One night, Kumi wakes up because she hears a strange sound in her room. It’s like a soft “cric-cric.” Kumi hides under her blanket, a little scared. But her curiosity is stronger, and she decides to look for the source of the sound.

Kumi enciende una pequeña linterna y mira debajo de la cama, en el armario y en la ventana. Al final, descubre un pequeño grillo escondido detrás de la cortina. “¡Un grillo!” dice sorprendida.

Kumi turns on a small flashlight and looks under the bed, in the closet, and at the window. Finally, she finds a small cricket hiding behind the curtain. “A cricket!” she says, surprised.

Kumi pone el grillo en una cajita con agujeros y le da una hoja verde. Luego vuelve a la cama y escucha el canto suave del grillo. Ahora el sonido le parece bonito y le ayuda a dormir.

Kumi puts the cricket in a small box with holes and gives it a green leaf. Then she goes back to bed and listens to the soft song of the cricket. Now the sound seems pretty to her and helps her sleep.

Por la mañana, Kumi enseña el grillo a mamá y juntas lo liberan en el jardín. “Gracias por tu música, pequeño grillo”, dice Kumi. Ese día, Kumi cuenta la aventura a Yui y Akari, y todas ríen juntas recordando el misterioso sonido de la noche.

In the morning, Kumi shows the cricket to her mom and together they let it go in the garden. “Thank you for your music, little cricket,” says Kumi. That day, Kumi tells Yui and Akari about the adventure, and they all laugh together remembering the mysterious sound from the night.
