Esta semana hay un gran evento en la escuela: el festival de verano. Las clases están decoradas con farolillos de papel y dibujos de peces y flores. Kumi, Yui y Akari llevan yukata de colores. Todos están emocionados.

There are many games: fishing for balloons, ring toss, and a sack race. Kumi tries to fish for a balloon with very thin paper, but the paper breaks and the balloon falls into the water. “Almost!” she says, laughing. Yui and Akari cheer her on.

After that, everyone eats cotton candy and drinks lemonade. The sun is shining and the air smells like summer. Kumi tries cotton candy for the first time and laughs because it sticks to her nose.

Por la tarde, hay una pequeña exhibición de fuegos artificiales en el patio. Todos miran al cielo y gritan: “¡Qué bonito!” Kumi piensa que el festival de verano es el mejor día del año.
