It was all too much. Haru’s silence had become a pressure, a storm front brooding over us all. I saw the moment his restraint snapped—a tremor ran through him, and then he lunged at Najimi, eyes wild with pain and fury.

Era demasiado. El silencio de Haru se había vuelto una presión, una tormenta cerniéndose sobre todos. Vi el instante en que perdió el control: un temblor lo recorrió y de repente se abalanzó sobre Najimi, los ojos salvajes de dolor y rabia.
Mitsuki and Kumi cried out in shock, but before anyone could react, Haru’s hands were at Najimi’s throat. “Why do you get to be happy?” he spat. “Why do I have to be alone?” Najimi struggled, her eyes wide with terror, feet kicking helplessly against the floor.

Mitsuki y Kumi gritaron, pero antes de que nadie pudiera reaccionar, las manos de Haru estaban en el cuello de Najimi.
“¿Por qué tú puedes ser feliz?” escupió. “¿Por qué yo tengo que estar solo?”
Najimi forcejeó, los ojos desorbitados de terror, los pies golpeando inútilmente el suelo.
I didn’t think—I just moved. My body collided with Haru’s, tearing him away from Najimi. We crashed to the floor together, breathless, limbs tangled.

“Enough!” I shouted, voice cracking. “We’re not enemies! We’re—” But Haru shoved me aside, tears streaming down his face. “You don’t get it! My family’s gone—everyone! And she gets to smile like nothing happened!”

Najimi coughed, gasping for air. Komehyo reached for her, but the room was breaking apart—emotionally, physically, spiritually.
