Story (English - CEFR C2)
I started noticing it everywhere—whispers in the hallway, fleeting glances at club meetings, the feeling that someone was always just around the corner. It wasn’t only me. Najimi grew restless, checking her phone more often than usual. Mitsuki stopped in the middle of a joke, glancing toward the window, lips pursed. Even Haru, who rarely reacted to anything, seemed on edge, his eyes sharper, his posture a little too alert.

Empecé a notarlo en todas partes—susurros en los pasillos, miradas fugaces durante las reuniones del club, la sensación de que alguien siempre estaba a la vuelta de la esquina. No era solo yo. Najimi estaba inquieta, revisando su móvil más de lo habitual. Mitsuki se detenía a mitad de una broma, mirando hacia la ventana con los labios apretados. Incluso Haru, que rara vez reaccionaba a algo, parecía tenso, con la mirada más aguda y la postura demasiado alerta.
Komehyo, on the other hand, acted as if nothing had changed. He kept up his dry humor and never missed an opportunity to tease Mitsuki. But I could tell—even he was glancing at the door more than before, cleaning his glasses a little too often.

But at night, lying in bed, I’d replay the day in my mind—those stray glances, the tension under the laughter. I couldn’t help but wonder: Who was the girl everyone kept talking about? And why did I feel like I’d met her before?

One afternoon, as we left the clubroom, I caught a glimpse of someone at the far end of the hallway—a silhouette with familiar hair, standing just out of reach. When I turned for a better look, she was gone. Only the faintest echo of footsteps lingered in the empty hall.
