The hallway was colder now, and every shadow felt alive. Komehyo tried to lighten the mood. “Maybe the house is just bored and wants to play cards.” Even that didn’t get a laugh.

El pasillo era más frío ahora, y cada sombra parecía cobrar vida. Komehyo intentó aligerar el ambiente. “Quizá la casa está aburrida y quiere jugar a las cartas.” Nadie se rió.
We gathered in the lounge, the strange note on the table between us. Yuki examined it again. “This handwriting—it’s not from anyone we know. There’s a new player. Someone… or something… wants to challenge us.”
