Story (CEFR: B1 English)
Armed with the new key, we searched the attic for anything that looked like a hidden door. Miiro tapped on walls, Komehyo shined his flashlight in corners, and Najimi poked her head behind old boxes.

Con la nueva llave en mano, buscamos en el ático alguna puerta oculta. Miiro golpeaba las paredes, Komehyo iluminaba las esquinas con la linterna y Najimi asomaba la cabeza detrás de cajas viejas.
Suddenly, Komehyo shouted, “Over here!” We gathered around a wooden panel that looked slightly different from the rest. There was a keyhole in the center and four small handprints carved into the wood.

De pronto, Komehyo gritó, “¡Aquí!” Nos reunimos junto a un panel de madera que se veía distinto. Había una cerradura en el centro y cuatro pequeñas huellas de manos grabadas en la madera.
Najimi placed her hand on one print. “Maybe it opens if we all touch it together?”
Miiro nodded, and each of us took a place. I slid the key into the lock as we pressed our hands down.

Miiro asintió y cada uno ocupó un lugar. Puse la llave en la cerradura mientras presionábamos las manos.
There was a gentle click. The panel slid open, revealing a dark staircase leading downward. A cool breeze wafted up, carrying the scent of old earth and hidden secrets.
