The next morning, rain pattered against the windows of Puzzle House. Najimi lounged on the sofa, humming yesterday’s “bell song.” Komehyo scribbled formulas on scrap paper, watching droplets slide down the glass.

A la mañana siguiente, la lluvia golpeaba las ventanas de la Casa Puzzle. Najimi descansaba en el sofá, tarareando la “canción de la campana” de ayer. Komehyo garabateaba fórmulas en papeles, mirando las gotas correr por el cristal.
I stared at the silver bell on the table. It felt heavier than before, as if holding more secrets than we could guess.
Najimi stretched. “Rainy days are perfect for making up stories. Ak, want to write a scary story with me?”

Miraba la campana plateada en la mesa. Parecía más pesada que antes, como si guardara más secretos de los que podíamos imaginar.
Najimi se estiró. “Los días de lluvia son perfectos para inventar historias. Ak, ¿quieres escribir una historia de miedo conmigo?”
Komehyo looked up. “If you write it, I’ll calculate the probability of the monster being real.”
Najimi giggled. “Then we’ll make it extra improbable!”
I smiled. “Let’s do it. I’ll start: ‘Once upon a time, in a house full of puzzles…’”

Komehyo levantó la vista. “Si la escriben, yo calcularé la probabilidad de que el monstruo sea real.”
Najimi se rió. “¡Entonces será un monstruo súper improbable!”
Sonreí. “Vamos allá. Empiezo: ‘Érase una vez, en una casa llena de acertijos…’”
We passed the notebook back and forth, adding twists and jokes, inventing a creature called the “Puzzle Ghost” that changed shape whenever someone solved a riddle. Laughter soon filled the room, making the rain outside seem far away.
