At midnight, the library felt both familiar and mysterious. We huddled around the big old clock on the wall, counting the slow, echoing ticks. Suddenly, at exactly twelve o’clock, the clock’s hands moved past twelve and pointed to a hidden “thirteen.”

A medianoche, la biblioteca se sentía familiar y misteriosa a la vez. Nos agrupamos alrededor del viejo reloj grande de la pared, contando los lentos y resonantes tic-tacs. De repente, justo a las doce en punto, las agujas del reloj pasaron el doce y señalaron un oculto “trece.”
Najimi gasped. “Did anyone else see that?”
Komehyo reached up, feeling around the clock. “There’s a latch behind here. Help me!”
I boosted him up, and with some effort, he opened a small hidden door behind the clock face.

Inside, we found a tiny glass vial, sealed with wax, and a slip of paper. The note read: “This is the hour when impossible things happen. The next secret waits where music lingers.”

Komehyo nodded, already thinking about what kind of puzzle could be hidden there.
I pocketed the vial, wondering what impossible thing might happen next.
