At midnight, the three of us tiptoed back into the library, flashlights in hand. The old floor creaked under our feet, and shadows danced along the crooked bookshelves.

A medianoche, los tres regresamos de puntillas a la biblioteca, linternas en mano. El suelo viejo crujía bajo nuestros pies, y las sombras bailaban entre los estantes torcidos.
Najimi shined her flashlight at the wall. “Look! Letters!”
Indeed, long shadows from the lamp spelled out three shaky words: “Behind the map.”
Komehyo’s eyes widened. “There’s an old map of Puzzle House in the hallway!”

En efecto, las sombras largas de la lámpara formaban tres palabras temblorosas: “Detrás del mapa.”
Komehyo abrió los ojos. “¡Hay un mapa viejo de la Casa Puzzle en el pasillo!”
We hurried into the hall. The map was huge, yellowed, and pinned to the wall. Carefully, we lifted one corner and found a tiny metal key taped behind it.

Corrimos al pasillo. El mapa era enorme, amarillento y estaba pegado a la pared. Con cuidado, levantamos una esquina y encontramos una pequeña llave de metal pegada detrás.
Najimi held up the key triumphantly. “Next level, unlocked!”
Komehyo examined it. “This is too small for any normal door.”
I guessed, “Maybe it’s for a box or a drawer? Something hidden?”

The air in Puzzle House felt charged with excitement. We returned to our rooms with the tiny key, each of us wondering what it might open, and what secrets we would find together next.
