Story (CEFR: B1 English)
The next morning, Najimi woke everyone early by banging two saucepan lids together. “Clue day! Up and at ’em!”
Komehyo groaned. “I need more data. And more sleep.”
I yawned. “Let’s at least have breakfast first.”

コメヒョがうめく。「データも睡眠も足りない…」
僕はあくび。「とりあえず朝ごはんにしようよ」

A la mañana siguiente, Najimi despertó a todos golpeando dos tapas de sartén. “¡Día de pista! ¡Arriba!”
Komehyo gruñó. “Necesito más datos. Y más sueño.”
Bostecé. “Al menos desayunemos primero.”
After a quick meal, we searched for new clues. On the kitchen table was a folded napkin shaped like a star. Inside was a riddle: “Where time stands tall, secrets hide below. Third step, left.”
Najimi clapped. “The old clock tower!”
Komehyo nodded. “The stairs beneath it.”

ナジミが手をたたく。「あの古い時計塔だ！」
コメヒョもうなずく。「階段の下を調べよう」

Después de un desayuno rápido, buscamos nuevas pistas. En la mesa de la cocina había una servilleta doblada en forma de estrella. Dentro había un acertijo: “Donde el tiempo se alza, los secretos se esconden abajo. Tercer escalón, a la izquierda.”
Najimi aplaudió. “¡La vieja torre del reloj!”
Komehyo asintió. “Debajo de las escaleras.”
We hurried to the tower. The steps creaked as we counted. At the third step on the left, I found a loose board. Underneath, there was a small envelope with another note: “Congratulations! You work well together. Get ready for tomorrow’s challenge.”
Najimi cheered. “We did it again!”
Komehyo smiled. “Our teamwork is improving. Statistically.”

僕たちは急いで時計塔へ向かった。きしむ階段を数えながら上る。左側の三段目で、緩んだ板を発見。そこには小さな封筒があり、またもやメモが。「おめでとう！君たちはいいチームワークだ。明日の課題に備えよ」
ナジミが歓声。「またやったね！」
コメヒョも微笑む。「チームワークの向上率は統計的にも良好」

Fuimos rápido a la torre. Los escalones crujían mientras los contábamos. En el tercer escalón a la izquierda, encontré una tabla suelta. Debajo había un sobre pequeño con otra nota: “¡Felicidades! Trabajan bien juntos. Prepárense para el reto de mañana.”
Najimi celebró. “¡Lo logramos otra vez!”
Komehyo sonrió. “Nuestro trabajo en equipo está mejorando. Estadísticamente.”
On the way back, we joked about who the secret puzzle master might be. Najimi voted for “a friendly alien.” Komehyo guessed “someone in the house.” I wasn’t sure, but I knew I’d never felt so alive.

De camino a casa, bromeamos sobre quién sería el maestro secreto de los acertijos. Najimi apostó por “un alienígena amistoso”. Komehyo dijo “alguien de la casa”. Yo no estaba seguro, pero nunca me había sentido tan vivo.
That night, the three of us sat on the roof, watching stars appear in the sky, already wondering what the next day’s puzzle would bring.
