It didn’t take long for Rikka to become a part of Puzzle House life. The very next morning, I found her in the hallway, unpacking a suitcase covered with stickers from places like “Lake Hope” and “Cat Island.” She wore her signature blue headphones and hummed a song I didn’t recognize. When she caught me watching, she just smiled and offered me a sticker. “For your notebook,” she said. “Or for hiding secret codes.”

That’s a rare skill.” We watched as Rikka carefully arranged books, a tiny cactus, and a solar-powered cat toy on her shelf. Her room was quickly filling with little treasures—music posters, jars of colorful sea glass, even a handmade mobile of rainclouds and silver fish. Every detail felt thoughtful, like she was building a small world just for herself.

Rikka considered for a moment, twirling a piece of sea glass between her fingers. “Because every puzzle needs a new piece sometimes,” she replied. “And I like places where rain sounds louder than worries.” For a second, no one spoke. Then Najimi hugged her so suddenly that her headphones fell off. “You’re officially one of us now!”
