Story (CEFR: B1 English)
One sunny afternoon, Najimi burst into the lounge holding a colorful baton. “Today’s club activity: The Riddle Relay!”
Komehyo adjusted his glasses. “Rules, please.”
Najimi explained, “We form teams. Each person solves a riddle and then tags the next. The team with the fastest time wins!”
Ak asked, “Do we get prizes?”
Najimi grinned. “Winner gets the last piece of strawberry cake!”
Kumi’s eyes sparkled. “I’m in. I love riddles!”

ある晴れた午後、ナジミがカラフルなバトンを持ってラウンジに飛び込んだ。「今日のクラブ活動は“なぞなぞリレー”！」
コメヒョが眼鏡を直す。「ルールは？」
ナジミが説明する。「チームに分かれて、順番に問題を解いて次の人にタッチ。タイムが一番早いチームの勝ち！」
アクが「ご褒美はあるの？」と聞く。
ナジミがニヤリ。「勝者にはいちごケーキの最後の一切れ！」
クミの目が輝く。「参加する！なぞなぞ大好き！」

Una tarde soleada, Najimi entró corriendo al salón con un colorido testigo. “¡Actividad del club de hoy: Relevo de acertijos!”
Komehyo se acomodó las gafas. “¿Las reglas?”
Najimi explicó: “Nos dividimos en equipos. Cada uno resuelve un acertijo y pasa el turno. ¡El equipo más rápido gana!”
Ak preguntó: “¿Hay premios?”
Najimi sonrió. “¡El ganador se lleva el último trozo de pastel de fresa!”
Los ojos de Kumi brillaron. “¡Me apunto! ¡Me encantan los acertijos!”
They split into two teams: Najimi and Ak, Kumi and Komehyo. Rikka was the judge, stopwatch in hand.
“First riddle!” Rikka announced. “What has keys but can’t open locks?”
Ak answered first. “A piano!”
Najimi cheered, high-fiving Ak, and tagged Kumi.
Kumi listened as Rikka read, “I am not alive, but I grow. I don’t have lungs, but I need air. What am I?”
Kumi thought hard. “Fire!”
Komehyo grinned. “Correct. My turn!”

チーム分けは、ナジミ＆アク組とクミ＆コメヒョ組。リッカは審判でストップウォッチを持つ。
「第１問！」とリッカが宣言。「鍵はあるけど錠は開けられないものは？」
アクがすぐに答える。「ピアノ！」
ナジミがアクとハイタッチしてクミにバトンを渡す。
クミにはリッカが問題を読む。「生きていないけど育つ。肺はないけど空気が必要。なーんだ？」
クミは真剣に考え、「火！」と答える。
コメヒョがにっこり。「正解、次は僕だ！」

Se dividieron en dos equipos: Najimi y Ak, Kumi y Komehyo. Rikka era la jueza, con el cronómetro en mano.
“¡Primer acertijo!” anunció Rikka. “¿Qué tiene llaves pero no puede abrir cerraduras?”
Ak respondió primero. “¡Un piano!”
Najimi animó a Ak y le pasó el testigo a Kumi.
Kumi escuchó mientras Rikka leía: “No estoy viva, pero crezco. No tengo pulmones, pero necesito aire. ¿Qué soy?”
Kumi lo pensó mucho. “¡Fuego!”
Komehyo sonrió. “Correcto. ¡Mi turno!”
Komehyo’s riddle was: “What has a heart that doesn’t beat?”
He puzzled, then snapped his fingers. “An artichoke!”
Najimi laughed, “How do you even know that?”
Komehyo winked. “I study vegetables for science.”
Ak said, “Final round!”
Rikka read: “The more you take, the more you leave behind. What are they?”
Najimi and Kumi answered in unison, “Footsteps!”
Everyone clapped, and Rikka stopped the timer.

コメヒョのなぞなぞは「心臓があるのに鼓動しないものは？」
コメヒョは悩んだ末に指を鳴らす。「アーティチョーク！」
ナジミが爆笑。「そんなのどこで知るの？」
コメヒョがウインク。「科学のために野菜研究してるから」
アクが「いよいよ最終ラウンド！」と叫ぶ。
リッカが読む。「踏めば踏むほど残るものは？」
ナジミとクミが同時に「足跡！」
みんなで拍手し、リッカがタイマーを止めた。

El acertijo de Komehyo era: “¿Qué tiene corazón pero no late?”
Pensó y luego chasqueó los dedos. “¡Alcachofa!”
Najimi se rió. “¿Cómo sabes eso?”
Komehyo guiñó un ojo. “Estudio vegetales por la ciencia.”
Ak dijo, “¡Ronda final!”
Rikka leyó: “Cuanto más tomas, más dejas atrás. ¿Qué es?”
Najimi y Kumi respondieron al unísono, “¡Huellas!”
Todos aplaudieron y Rikka detuvo el cronómetro.
Najimi shouted, “That was awesome! I declare both teams winners!”
Rikka agreed. “Teamwork is more important than speed.”
Ak handed Kumi the cake plate. “Here, you solved the trickiest riddle.”
Kumi smiled, sharing the cake with everyone. “Let’s always play together.”
Everyone agreed, laughter and riddles filling the lounge.

リッカもうなずく。「スピードよりチームワークだね」
アクがケーキの皿をクミに渡す。「一番難しいのを解いたからどうぞ」
クミはみんなにケーキを分けながら微笑む。「これからもみんなで遊ぼうね」
みんなが賛成し、ラウンジには笑いとなぞなぞが溢れた。

Najimi gritó, “¡Eso fue genial! ¡Declaro que ambos equipos ganan!”
Rikka estuvo de acuerdo. “El trabajo en equipo es más importante que la velocidad.”
Ak le entregó el plato de pastel a Kumi. “Tú resolviste el acertijo más difícil.”
Kumi sonrió, compartiendo el pastel con todos. “Juguemos siempre juntos.”
Todos estuvieron de acuerdo y el salón se llenó de risas y acertijos.
