Story (CEFR: B1 English)
Sunday morning brought a rare visitor: the Puzzle House landlord. Mr. Tanaka was a gentle, elderly man with a silver beard and a pocketful of candy. He knocked on every door, greeting each resident by name and handing out sweets. Ak opened the door, still in pajamas, and accepted a caramel. “Morning, Ak! Any new puzzles this week?” Mr. Tanaka asked. Ak smiled, “Every day’s a puzzle here.” Najimi appeared with bed hair and asked for extra candy, while Komehyo handed Mr. Tanaka a blueprint for his “weather control toaster.” Rikka offered him a handmade paper raindrop, which he admired with twinkling eyes.

日曜の朝、パズルハウスに珍しい来客があった。大家の田中さんだ。銀髭の優しいおじいさんで、ポケットにはいつも飴がいっぱい。彼は全ての部屋を回って住人の名前を呼び、飴を配る。アクはパジャマ姿でドアを開け、キャラメルをもらった。「おはよう、アクくん！今週も新しい謎はあるかい？」田中さんが声をかける。アクは「毎日が謎だらけです」と笑った。ナジミは寝癖のまま現れ、飴をおかわりし、コメヒョは「天気制御トースター」の設計図を渡す。リッカは手作りの紙の雨粒をプレゼントし、田中さんは目を輝かせて見入った。

El domingo por la mañana trajo una visita poco común: el dueño de la Casa Puzzle. El señor Tanaka era un hombre mayor y amable, con barba plateada y los bolsillos llenos de caramelos. Llamó a cada puerta, saludando a todos por su nombre y repartiendo dulces. Ak abrió la puerta en pijama y aceptó un caramelo. “¡Buenos días, Ak! ¿Algún nuevo acertijo esta semana?” preguntó el señor Tanaka. Ak sonrió: “Aquí, cada día es un rompecabezas”. Najimi apareció despeinada y pidió más caramelos, mientras Komehyo entregó al señor Tanaka un plano de su “tostadora controladora del clima”. Rikka le regaló una gota de papel hecha a mano, que él admiró con ojos brillantes.
After his rounds, Mr. Tanaka gathered everyone in the lounge. He reminisced about the old days—when Puzzle House hosted music nights, garden parties, and even a secret chess club. “This place is special because of the people,” he said, eyes soft. “Promise me you’ll take care of each other.” The club members nodded solemnly. Then Najimi broke the mood by balancing three caramel candies on her nose. Laughter returned instantly. Mr. Tanaka waved goodbye, leaving behind not just sweets, but a reminder that Puzzle House was a home built from kindness and a hundred little mysteries.

田中さんは全室を回ったあと、みんなをラウンジに集めた。昔の思い出を語る。音楽会やガーデンパーティー、秘密のチェスクラブもあったそうだ。「この建物が特別なのは、ここにいる人たちのおかげだよ」と優しく言う。「お互いを大切にしてね」と約束させる。クラブのみんなは真剣にうなずいた。が、ナジミがキャラメルを三つ鼻に乗せてムードを台無しに。すぐ笑い声が戻る。田中さんは手を振って帰っていき、飴だけでなく、優しさと小さな謎のつまった“家”を再認識させてくれた。

Después de repartir caramelos, el señor Tanaka reunió a todos en la sala común. Recordó viejos tiempos: noches de música, fiestas en el jardín y hasta un club secreto de ajedrez. “Este lugar es especial por su gente”, dijo con ternura. “Prométanme que se cuidarán entre ustedes.” Los miembros del club asintieron con solemnidad. Najimi rompió el momento serio equilibrando tres caramelos en la nariz. Las risas volvieron al instante. El señor Tanaka se despidió, dejando no solo dulces, sino un recordatorio de que la Casa Puzzle era un hogar construido con bondad y cien pequeños misterios.
