English Story (CEFR: B2)
They traveled for hours through snowy plains, the sun hidden behind thick clouds. The landscape grew harsher with every step—abandoned vehicles buried in white, shattered power lines frozen in place.
In the distance, the skeleton of a ruined city rose against the pale sky. Tall buildings leaned like broken teeth, some crumbling, others scorched by war.
“Welcome to the Quiet Zone,” Mori said grimly. “No drones. No signals. The Faction avoids it. Too unstable.”
“Unstable how?” Lin asked.
“Reality folds here. Glitches in space-time. This place touches the edge of where you came from.”
Rai felt it immediately. The closer they walked, the more his head throbbed—not from pain, but from pressure. Like something was trying to speak to him.
They entered a collapsed subway tunnel, using its shelter to rest. Inside, the walls shimmered faintly, as if light from another world flickered just beyond the concrete.
Lin sat near a broken vending machine, watching the walls pulse. “This doesn’t feel like a ruin. It feels… alive.”
“It’s responding to us,” Rai said. “To our cores.”
Mori nodded. “This city was one of the first testing grounds. Before they understood what ‘resonance’ really meant.”
Suddenly, a sharp, digital sound rang out—one of the seals was nearby.
Rai stood. “Let’s find it. The last one unlocked part of my memory.”
They moved deeper, passing shattered billboards and cars stuck mid-collision. Then, in the center of a former train platform, it appeared—another glowing symbol etched into metal.
As Rai approached, the light brightened. He placed his hand on it. The world around him dissolved in a wave of heat and sound.
He saw her again—the dark-haired girl. They were in a containment room. She held a pendant shaped like a spiral.
“You said you’d come back,” she whispered. “You promised.”
Rai gasped, falling to his knees as the vision faded. Lin caught him before he hit the ground.
“What did you see?” she asked.
“I remember the pendant,” he said. “I gave it to her… and I never came back.”
“Then we find it,” Mori said. “If it still exists, it’s proof of who you are.”
Outside the tunnel, the wind howled again. But deep inside the broken city, something else had awakened—echoes not only of Rai’s past, but of a future that was starting to bleed into the now.

森はうなずく。「この都市は最初の実験場の一つだった。奴らが“共鳴”の意味を理解する前の話だ。」
突然、鋭い電子音が響いた—近くにまた“シール”がある。
ライが立ち上がる。「見つけよう。前回のは、記憶の扉を開けてくれた。」
彼らはさらに奥へと進んだ。壊れた広告看板、衝突したままの車の間を抜けて。そして旧駅ホームの中央に、それは現れた—金属に刻まれた発光する紋章。

「なら、それを見つけよう」森が言った。「まだ存在してるなら、お前が誰なのかを証明する鍵だ。」
トンネルの外では、また風が唸っていた。だが、この壊れた都市の奥深くで、何かが目覚めていた—それはライの過去だけではなく、未来が今に侵食し始めた“兆し”だった。
