The next night, unable to concentrate on her thesis, Sophie returned to the library, drawn by a compulsion she could neither explain nor resist. This time, she brought a notebook and a small recorder, determined to document anything strange. The building was even quieter than before, the shadows deeper, the air tinged with the scent of old ink and candle wax.
