我姓趙，名雲，字子龍，常山真定人。世人稱我「白馬將軍」，讚我勇冠三軍。但我趙雲，不以勇武自矜，更重忠義與仁心。我從公孫瓚起兵，後見劉備仁德，遂決意追隨，誓以一生效命於其麾下，為漢室盡忠，為百姓安寧。

My name is Zhao Yun, courtesy name Zilong, from Zhen Ding in Changshan. The world calls me the “General in White,” praising my unmatched bravery. But I, Zhao Yun, have never prided myself on strength alone. I value loyalty and compassion above all. I first served Gongsun Zan, but after witnessing Liu Bei’s benevolence, I pledged my life to him. My purpose was to serve the Han and protect the people.

The Battle of Changban was the most perilous moment of my life. Liu Bei’s army was in retreat, and I rode alone into the enemy’s ranks, rescuing Lady Gan and the young Liu Shan. I cut down dozens of foes and moved like the wind. Yet I never saw it as glory—only relief that no lives were lost. Lord Liu Bei embraced me and said, “Zilong is courage incarnate.” I simply bowed my head and returned to duty without pride.

After the founding of Shu, I was named General of the Assisting Army, helping Prime Minister Zhuge Liang in military affairs. I never sought fame or power—only the peace of our nation and people. During the northern campaigns, I requested to lead troops, but Zhuge Liang, valuing my loyalty, assigned me to guard the supply lines. Though I could not ride to the front, I had no complaints. Loyalty does not always require blood—it shines in steadfast protection too.
