Es jueves y hace mucho calor. En la escuela, la profesora Matsuda dice: “Hoy vamos a la piscina.” Todos los niños se alegran mucho. Es la primera vez que Kumi va a nadar con su clase.

Kumi puts on her swim cap and swimsuit. At first, she is a little scared because the water is cold. Yui cheers her up: “Let’s go together!” Little by little, Kumi puts her feet in the water and then goes in slowly.

Soon, everyone is playing and splashing water. Ms. Matsuda teaches them how to float and blow bubbles. Kumi tries to swim and, although she swallows a little water, she laughs and doesn’t give up.

Al final de la clase, Kumi puede flotar sola. Todos aplauden y la profesora le da una pegatina de pez. “¡Eres valiente!” dice Matsuda sensei. Kumi vuelve a casa orgullosa de sí misma y con ganas de volver a nadar.

At the end of the class, Kumi can float by herself. Everyone claps, and the teacher gives her a fish sticker. “You are brave!” says Ms. Matsuda. Kumi goes home proud of herself and wants to swim again soon.
