Story (CEFR: B1 English)
It’s still raining as the club sits in a circle, flashlights and candles lighting up worried faces. After a long silence, I speak up. “We can’t all go. But we shouldn’t send anyone alone, either. What if we go in pairs?”

After some discussion, we decide: Makoto and Komehyo will stay behind to wait for the repair crew and watch the water. Najimi and Hana will go to the store for supplies. Kumi volunteers to coordinate between the two groups by phone.
