English Story (CEFR: A2)
The second week of high school brought chaos and color to the school courtyard. The club fair was in full swing, with booths everywhere, blasting music, and students shouting to join their clubs. Kumicho, Najimi, and Itao wandered through the crowd, eyes wide at the spectacle.
“This is like a festival!” Najimi said, clutching a flyer from the music club. Her ponytail swung as she spun to see everything. “I wanna try the guitar. Or maybe cooking? What do you think, Kumicho?”

Itao, back from the soccer booth, snorted. “Student council? Boring! I’m gonna score goals and win hearts.” He winked at Aoi, who ignored him, tuning her guitar.
Then, disaster struck. The cooking club’s pancake booth caught fire—too much oil in the pan. Flames shot up, and students screamed. Yui shouted, “Everyone, stay calm!” and grabbed a fire extinguisher. Riku, surprisingly quick, helped her spray foam.

By the end, Kumicho and Najimi joined the art and music clubs, but Yui convinced them to help with student council events too. Itao stuck with soccer, sure he’d be a star. Mika dragged Haru to the drama club, saying, “You owe us for the fire!”
Walking home, the sunset glowed. Najimi hummed a tune she’d learned. “Today was wild,” she said. “I think we’re gonna love high school.”

サッカー部のブースはガヤガヤしてて、選手たちがボールを操ってた。始業式で絵を描いてたトゲトゲ頭のリクが、ボールを指でクルクル。「お、イタオ、来いよ！…自信ある奴、欲しいぜ」とニヤニヤ。
イタオは胸ドン。「ほら、俺もうスター扱い！」入部届けにサインして、クミチョの呆れ顔をスルー。「ナジミ、応援してくれるよな？」
ナジミはクスクス。「ボールにつまずかなければね！」
音楽部のブースでは、長い三つ編みのアオイがギターをジャーン。「試してみなよ！」とナジミに声かけ。ナジミはギターを手に、ぎこちなく弦を弾いた。音はハズレたけど、笑顔で。「これ、見た目よりムズいね！」
クミチョはスケッチブックを抱えて見てた。*ナジミ、めっちゃ楽しそう*って思い、気持ちをグッとしまって、ノートにギターをササッと描いた。

サッカー部から戻ったイタオがフンッ。「生徒会？つまんね！俺はゴール決めて、女の子のハートゲットだぜ。」アオイにウィンク、でも彼女はギター調弦に夢中で完全スルー。
そしたら、大騒ぎ！料理部のホットケーキ屋台がボッ！油入れすぎで炎が上がった。みんな「うわ！」と叫び、ユイが「落ち着いて！」と消火器をガシッ。リクがサッと手伝って、泡をシューッ。
ナジミがクミチョの袖をグイ。「助けなきゃ！」近くの屋台からバケツ持ってダッシュ。ミカも「これ、演劇のシーンみたい！」と叫びながらついてきた。
火が消えて、料理部のリーダー、丸メガネのハルがペコペコ。「ご、ごめん…でも、みんな、ありがと…。」メガネが曇って、焦ってた。

結局、クミチョは美術部、ナジミは音楽部に決めて、ユイに生徒会イベントの手伝いも約束。イタオはサッカーで「スターになる！」と意気込み、ミカはハルを演劇部にグイッ。「火事の借り、返してよね！」
帰り道、夕日がキラキラ。ナジミは習ったメロディを口ずさんで、「今日、めっちゃバタバタだったね。高校、絶対ハマるよ！」
クミチョは頷いて、ギターのスケッチをしまった。ナジミの楽しそうな顔が、なんかいいなって思った。イタオは泡だらけで、「明日、アオイに告るからな！」とゴネる。
追い付いてきたリクがニヤッ。「頑張れよ、運がいるぜ。」
クラブフェアは終わったけど、新しい仲間やライバルがガンガン出てきた。このつながり、次は何を生むんだろう？
