はじめに：「？」を「！」に変える魔法の質問！
前のページでは、たくさんのモノの名前を覚えて、"This is a book." みたいに、指さしながら英語で言う練習をしたね！ "You're doing great!" (とっても順調だよ！)
でも、もし目の前にあるモノの名前がパッと思い出せなかったり、初めて見るもので「これ、なんだろう？」って思ったりしたら…？そんな時は、勇気を出して「これは何ですか？」って英語で聞いてみよう！
このページでは、"What" (ワット - 何) という、とっても便利な「質問の言葉」（疑問詞 - ぎもんし って言うよ）を使って、モノの名前を尋ねる方法をマスターするぞ！これができれば、知らないモノに出会うのがもっと楽しくなるはず！

「これは何ですか？」って聞くときの基本の形だよ。"What" (何) + "is" + "this" (これ) の組み合わせだね。会話では、"What is" を短くした "What's" (ワッツ) がよーく使われるよ！
答え方は？ (Answering "What's this?")
It is [モノの名前(単数)]. / It's [モノの名前(単数)].
"It" (それ) を使って答えるのが一般的だよ。"This is ..." で答えてもOK！

「あれは何ですか？」または「それは何ですか？」って、少し離れたものを指して聞くときの形だよ。
答え方は？ (Answering "What's that?")
It is [モノの名前(単数)]. / It's [モノの名前(単数)].
"That is ..." や "That's ..." で答えてもいいよ。
A: Look at that! What's that? (あれ見て！あれ、なあに？)
