「私の家の向かいにパン屋さんがあるんだ」「彼の席は私の真向かいだよ」のように、場所や位置について「**～の向かい側**」「**～の反対側**」と言いたい場面はよくありますね。 そんなときに使われるのが opposite と across from です。これらは非常によく似た意味で使われますが、少しニュアンスが異なる場合や、opposite の持つ他の意味も合わせて見ていきましょう。
