Date: June 23, 2025 Weather: Sunny and warm Mood: Productive (at first)
This morning, I woke up full of energy. The sun was shining through the window, and the sky was clear. I usually want to sleep a little more, but today was different. I felt strong and ready to do something useful.
I looked around my apartment. It was a bit messy. The laundry basket was full, there were dishes in the sink, and dust was on the floor. I said to myself, “Today, I will clean everything. I will be the king (or queen!) of housework!”
I got up, stretched, and made a to-do list.
Housework To-Do List:
I made a cup of coffee, turned on some music, and smiled. “Let’s do this.”
I started with the dishes. There weren’t many, but they were a bit greasy. I used hot water and lemon-scented soap. After 15 minutes, everything was clean and shiny.
Next was the laundry. I separated the clothes: whites, colors, and towels. I put the first load in the machine and pressed the button. The sound of the machine starting made me feel good. I was on track.
While the laundry was going, I vacuumed the floor. Under the sofa, I found some crumbs and even one missing sock. I laughed and said, “Hello, old friend.”
After vacuuming, I opened the windows and cleaned the glass with a spray. It was a little hard to reach the top, but I used a small chair. Now the sunlight came in more clearly. Everything was starting to look fresh.
The bathroom needed some extra love. I put on gloves and used a strong cleaner. I scrubbed the bathtub, the sink, and the toilet. I also cleaned the mirror and the floor.
After I finished, the whole bathroom smelled like mint. It looked like a hotel bathroom (well, almost).
I took a short break and made a simple sandwich with eggs, lettuce, and cheese. I also drank some iced tea and sat near the window. I looked at my list. I already finished five things. I was proud.
“Only three more to go,” I thought.
I tied the trash bags and took them outside. The sun felt warm on my face. I waved to a neighbor and said hello. She said, “You look very busy today!”
“Yes,” I answered, “but I feel great!”
This was the big one. My closet was a bit scary. Clothes were everywhere. Some things I hadn’t worn in years. So I took everything out and made three piles:
It took time, but in the end, my closet looked clean and organized. I could finally see all my shirts and pants. I even found a sweater I forgot I had.
I decided to cook dinner early, so I wouldn’t be tired later. I made curry rice with vegetables. I chopped onions, carrots, and potatoes, and cooked them slowly with curry sauce.
The smell was amazing. I tasted a little, and it was perfect. I turned off the stove and covered the pot. “Dinner is ready,” I said proudly.
I sat on the sofa with a cup of tea. The apartment was clean. The clothes were washed and folded. Dinner was cooked. My to-do list was complete.
I felt like a true adult. Responsible. Organized. Amazing.
I even said out loud, “Today, I am perfect.”
At 6 p.m., I decided to take a hot shower before dinner. I entered the bathroom and noticed something strange.
There was water on the floor.
A lot of water.
I looked down. The sink pipe was leaking!
“Oh no…”
I quickly took towels and tried to stop the water. It wasn’t a big flood, but the floor was wet, and I had to clean everything again.
I sighed and said, “Well… almost perfect.”
After drying the bathroom floor again, I finally sat down to eat. The curry rice was still warm, and the flavor was rich and comforting.
Even with the little “accident,” I still felt good. Today, I cleaned, cooked, and organized. And I fixed a mini plumbing problem.
Not 100% perfect—but close enough.
Today was one of the most productive days I’ve had in a long time. I did almost everything I planned. Of course, things don’t always go perfectly. Life always adds a surprise.
But I learned something: being “perfect” doesn’t mean doing everything without mistakes. It means trying your best and not giving up—even when things get a little wet.
I will sleep well tonight. And tomorrow, I might just fix that sink properly.
Maybe.
