A2 Reading Comprehension

Last month, I attended the Tanabata Festival in Sendai. It’s a famous festival with colorful paper decorations hanging on bamboo trees. People write wishes on small papers called tanzaku. I wrote a wish for good health. The streets were full of food stalls selling yakisoba, taiyaki, and shaved ice. I tried a strawberry-flavored shaved ice, and it was so refreshing! There was a parade with dancers in bright costumes, and I took many photos. My friend Kenta joined me, and we stayed until the evening to see lanterns light up. The festival was crowded but so much fun. I hope my wish comes true!
