Last week, my school newspaper interviewed a local baker, Mr. Yamada, who owns a bakery in Kyoto. Here is part of the interview:

Student: Mr. Yamada, how long have you owned your bakery?

Mr. Yamada: For 15 years. I started it with my wife after we moved to Kyoto.

Student: What kind of bread do you make?

Mr. Yamada: We make many kinds, like French bread and melon bread. Our customers love the red bean paste buns.

Student: Do you have a favorite?

Mr. Yamada: I like the pumpkin bread. It’s special in autumn.

Student: What’s the hardest part of your job?

Mr. Yamada: Waking up at 4 a.m. to bake fresh bread! But I love seeing happy customers.

The interview was fun, and Mr. Yamada gave us free bread to try. I ate a red bean bun, and it was delicious.
